About John Barr Signs
John Barr Signs was started in 1978 after it’s founder and current owner, John Barr, took an interest in traditional sign writing.
Building on a foundation of fair-ground and amusement signs, John moved into more advanced and specialised areas of the sign writing business including the repair and restoration of traditional hand-painted signs.
In 1989 John attended Glasgow’s College of Building and Printing where he studied sign work and advanced sign work. This led him to his City and Guilds Certificate and John Barr Signs started as a business in 1991.
Over the past 15 years John has worked on hundreds of projects all over the country and adapted and advanced his business to meet the demands of a highly competitive market place. Aside from traditional sign writing, John Barr Signs offers computer-generated vinyl lettering and full digital graphics on a huge variety of surfaces from vehicle chasis to shop fronts and banners.
